For those of you who don’t know, I am about to move to New York at the end of the month. Naturally, I looked for information on what to do once I am there and was immediately directed to a website created by New York City’s board of tourism called “Ask the Locals,”—a website in which celebrities dished on their favorite things to do and see in the city.” Out of all the videos, none was less informative or more unnecessary than the one featuring Big Bird and Elmo from Sesame Street. Some choice quotes:
Elmo: “Elmo’s favorite Letter train is the E train. E for Elmo.”
Big Bird: “I like the B train. For Big Bird.”
Okay. That is of no help whatsoever. Where do said trains go? Do you like them because they’re fast or stupidly because they coincidentally share the same letter as the one in your name? Big Bird, I’m pretty sure if the B train went to harlem, you wouldn’t be so psyched to ride it all day.
Elmo: “Elmo loves taking a taxi with his mommy and daddy because the taxi drivers are so cool.”
Really Elmo? The taxi drivers are “cool.” Well you must speak hindu because most of us just sit there silently and wait to pay as the drivers don’t speak english very well.
Sesame Street characters should not be giving real world advice. Mr. Bloomberg, remove this youtube video at once!
